Grimsby GO Station breaks ground using a new approach
@PRABSARKARIA ON X — Ontario Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria was on hand to celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Grimsby GO station.

GRIMSBY, ONT. — The Ontario government has started construction on the Grimsby GO Station using a new standardized design to help reduce construction costs and speed up timelines.

The new station, which will serve those wishing to travel to Niagara Region, will include one platform, 220 parking spaces, a bus loop and pick-up/drop-off areas, explains a release. It is the first to use the new design format.

“This station will offer future customers a safe, functional facility while providing a repeatable model for the province to efficiently design and construct GO Transit stations that deliver value for money in both capital investment and future operating costs,” the release reads.

In addition to opening  last year, the province completed major upgrades to , saving 250,000 daily commuters 15 minutes roundtrip and improving access to Niagara Falls.
